A Long Healthy Life

As I’ve gotten older, my views on living a long life have changed.

When I was young, I was never particularly scared of death. Now that I’m a mom, a wife, a friend, a part of my community… Well, it’s different. So many people would be devastated if I passed…

But let’s steer away from the morbid and go into the more practical! :-] To me, a long life would be ideal, if I can keep my health at a good percent.

Daily writing prompt
What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

I think a long life would be wonderful, if one can keep a good healthy body and mind. I don’t mean perfect.

I mean taking care of this vessel that has sailed us through life for so long. I recently got a little treadmill, and I plan to use it often! (Don’t we all? Haha)

💎

I chose a treadmill because even if my back or shoulders hurt, I can still walk. And even if it rains (like now) or snows, I can still walk indoors.

I also purchased a few books on anxiety. I’m not ashamed to say that I have been struggling with anxiety for most of my life. Growing up with alcoholic parents, then leaving the house young, can do that to you.

So, when I say “healthy,” I also mean a calm mind. A peaceful heart. A positive mindset. A good, solid trust in God.

If I can cope with life’s changes, keep my body in fairly good condition, and remain hopeful… then a long life does sound lovely.

Take care,
Dear Quiet

I am fine with living a long life as long as I don’t become a burden on my family

That has also crossed my mind. But I’m sure if your family loves you, they won’t ever see you as a burden 💖
