I keep dreaming that I’m in a car, with someone else driving, and they always want to drive into a path that is downhill, covered in vegetation, and waterlogged with rain.

I know there’s a safer, normal road somewhere, but it’s hard to think of exactly how to get there.

Sometimes I’m the driver, and even then, when I ask for directions, I’m always pointed down the same steep, vine-covered, waterlogged path. The rain is coming down hard. I just want the safer, faster road.

It’s always nighttime, but not middle-of-the-night. It’s usually around when darkness first falls.
